City & Guilds
is the UK’s leading provider of vocational qualifications offering
qualifications in 28 industry areas including plumbing, heating and
ventilation, electrotechnical, refrigeration & air conditioning, gas
fitting and the new environmental technologies. Working with industry experts
they have developed a portfolio of qualifications suitable for the construction
industry supporting both plumbing and heating.
APHC and City & Guilds have been working together on plumbing and heating qualification developments since the introduction of NVQs in 1992. The working relationship has proved beneficial to both parties with APHC providing a significant input to content development and the examinations used in successive plumbing and heating qualifications.
As well as traditional vocational courses, City & Guilds also offers a number of short courses suitable for those who are already working in the industry but who would like to refresh their knowledge or learn something new.
All City &Guilds plumbing and heating qualifications now come under the Qualifications and Credit Framework, which is the new Government framework which sets out how all regulated vocational qualifications are structured, titled and quality assured. It has replaced the existing National Qualifications Framework across England and Wales.
