"Better for consumers, better for the trade, and an unrivalled and invaluable resource for members." This is APHC Chief Executive John Thompson's verdict on the new APHC website.
After a complete redesign, the new APHC website is now live. The new site is clearer and easier to navigate for both members and consumers alike and now has an easy to use and efficient new Find an Installer search facility. Find an Installer can be used via conventional web access or from any smart phone. Members can attract customers in their town by listing all areas of expertise and the type of work they carry out.
On the home page and throughout the site there is now a clear distinction between the trade area and the consumer area, with a clear route for members wishing to access members-only facilities and resources. This will make it easy for consumers to find news and information relevant to them, while the members' area still retains the Notification Portal, all the support documents, technical advice and other guides that members have found invaluable in the past. This information is displayed in a logical, much more structured way than previously to ensure members find what they want quickly and easily.
Esther Purvey, APHC's Commercial Manager, said: "We asked the design team to take advice from members and consumers to help them produce the new site, and they have clearly listened carefully. The new site is more user friendly and far more useful than before to both consumers and the trade. This is illustrated by the improved Find an Installer function, which was one of the most popular parts of the old site and now can be used anytime, anywhere thanks to its smartphone application. We hope this will trigger a huge increase in its use by consumers and consequently feed more work in to our members."
