According to the Home Information Pack web site and the Department for Communities and Local Government on 1st June 2007, the Home Information Pack(HIP) will be launched.
This pack will allow a purchasing conveyancing solicitor to ascertain the competence of plumbing and heating operatives and subsequent works that have been undertaken.
If the solicitor has insufficient evidence of the quality of works, he is duty bound in law to give to his client the best possible advice which may include that the sale should NOT progress until remedial action and/or a price reduction reflects the prospective buyers risk!
We appreciate many of you see this as yet further bureaucracy and costs however we implore you to join a Competent Persons Scheme before 1st June 2007 so you can ensure that you meet your customers requirements in notifying in a simple straightforward manner, APHCs Scheme is not for profit. Please visit http://www.competentplumber.co.uk/ for more information or call membership services on 024 7647 0626. Non-action on your part could cost you your customer, your reputation and business.
Yours sincerely, Glen Evans Robert E Price President Chairman
