APHC CLARIFIES ITS POSITION REGARDING BPEC Following recent talks between the Association of Plumbing & Heating Contractors and BPEC, APHC has clarified its position regarding the relationship between the two organisations.
The Association wishes to apologise to BPEC for a number of errors and inaccuracies in articles sent to trade magazines in recent months that may have given the impression that it regarded BPEC as having connection to rogue trainers. Indeed the Association recognises that BPEC Certification Ltd does not provide training and is specifically there to ensure that assessments are delivered in accordance with the relevant assessment scheme or course rules.
APHC recognises that the training centres approved by BPEC Certification Ltd ensure that all assessments are delivered specifically in accordance with strict requirements. APHC acknowledges that BPEC always recommends that prior to undertaking training/assessment courses, training providers make proper enquiries with a potential candidate about previous experience and knowledge and to ascertain their suitability for training and assessment. Although all APHC directors resigned from the BPEC companies, APHC currently remains one of its founding members and is one of the nominating bodies of BPEC (Training) Ltd.
APHC and BPEC will continue their discussions in order to find positive ways of working together. APHCs Deputy CEO, John Thompson, commented: "Were happy to clarify the situation with BPEC because at this time more than any other, the industry must pull together. APHC shares the BPEC commitment to high quality training and, I look forward to working together in the future." Frank Glover, BPECs Chairman added: "Both BPEC and APHC have important and complementary roles to play in our industry and especially in its future.
We are both determined that high quality training should play a part in every plumbing and heating engineers ongoing development, and I look forward to working with APHC as we continue to give the industry access to relevant, high-quality training."
