APHC Training Ltd says that well over half of the £60 grants it is offering to support plumbing and heating companies have been taken up. Most of the grants, however, have been taken up by APHC members while the Association wishes to make clear that the grants are open to all eligible companies on selected courses - members and non-members alike.
John Thompson, Chief Executive of APHC, commented: "Were pleased with the uptake for the training grant so far but would welcome even more applications.
At £60, it is a small contribution towards helping to maintain a knowledgeable and up-to-date workforce. Companies who have taken up the offer have told us that every penny counts at the moment, and that for the sake of an email and a couple of forms to fill in, its well worth taking advantage of this grant. "The grant is available to train one existing qualified operative per company and cannot be used towards fast-track training nor towards apprenticeships but can be used on a wide range of continued professional development courses.Any interested companies should email firstname.lastname@example.org, putting "˜Training Grant in the subject line.
They will be sent a form to fill in, which also details the schemes operating conditions. After they have completed a course (which must be done by the end of the year), applicants send a copy of their invoice from the training provider along with their certificate of successful completion of the course, and APHC will put the £60 straight into their business bank account.
