The Association of Plumbing and Heating Contractors (APHC) is a not-for-profit trade body for the plumbing and heating industry in England and Wales. We work closely with key organisations such as Government, Local Authorities, Training Bodies and Consumer Organisations to ensure that best practice in the industry is promoted.
A vacancy has arisen based at our Head Office in Solihull for a technical subject expert who is an excellent communicator in both oral and written formats to lead on our technical services activities.
The post holder will provide a varied range of technically based support activities to member companies and to our own internal quality assurance functions. Ideally applicants should have experience of the installation and maintenance of plumbing and heating technologies and have the ability to deal with technical queries by telephone, in writing and by email.
This person will be involved in the development and delivery of training and assessment materials and courses including full qualifications development.
Applicants will preferably have experience of managing projects from inception through to completion including the identification and allocation of resources, and the skills and knowledge associated with delivering technical training courses.
The successful post holder will have an NVQ Level 3 qualification or City & Guilds Advanced Craft Certificate in a mechanical services discipline preferably plumbing. Have at least 5 years experience of operating as a technical expert or similar. Ability to work individually and as part of a team and work under pressure using own initiative are key attributes of the job role.
