The recently formed Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) working group have formulated guidance consultation documents to help provide clarity for installation companies within the MCS, in terms of the competency requirements of the company required to join the scheme and maintaining ongoing compliance as MCS approved installation companies.
The guidance proposals are designed to make the competency criteria more clearly defined and easier to understand, in order for the company to demonstrate its compliance against the scheme requirements without too much complexity. This will include demonstrating the competence of those individuals involved in the supply, design, installation, set to work and commissioning of microgeneration systems for which the company is seeking certification.
APHC urge installers who are involved in the MCS to take a look at the guidance documents and feedback their responses. To access the consultation guidance documents and feedback forms, visit: http://mcs.online-consultation.co.uk
All response forms should be submitted to the following email address with "competence criteria consultation response form" in the subject line email@example.com. The closing date for responses has been extended until 23rd July 2012 (5pm).
