APHC has called on its members and installers to take part in the Health and Safety Executive’s consultation on proposals to change or amend some of its Approved Codes of Practice (ACOP).
The three month consultation period has now started and installers have until 14th September to submit their views on the HSE proposals to revise, strengthen or remove several of these Approved Codes of Practice.
The Approved Codes of Practice provide guidance on how people/businesses can comply with the general duties of the Health and Safety at Work Act (HSWA), they cover a range of industries and are targeted towards high risk activities.
John Thompson, APHC Chief Executive: “I would urge all installers to take a look at the proposals as there are several Codes of Practice related to our industry that will be affected, Gas Safety, Legionella and Asbestos to name a few. As these are all important areas I would recommend completion of the consultation questionnaire.”
