During December 2012 the Association of Plumbing & Heating Contractors Ltd. held a series of Green Deal seminars covering the Green Deal, Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) and changes to Competent Person Schemes (CPS) from the installer perspective.
The 2012 seminars proved to be so popular that additional dates and venues around the country have been added for 2013. A new course has also been introduced that covers the development of a Quality Management System (QMS), including typical in-company procedures required of small businesses as part of accreditation arrangements under business approval schemes.
Graeme Dryden, APHC Technical Services Manager said: “There was such a high level of demand for our seminars in December that we have taken the decision to deliver more seminars during 2013. The level of confusion about the Green Deal within the industry remains high and judging from some of the questions we faced in December it is apparent that installers need further guidance and support. In addition to the seminars the new QMS course will be offered and should help provide the additional support that some installers may need to fulfil accreditation arrangements under business approval schemes.”
The seminars remain free of charge to existing members and non members – those wanting to take part in the QMS course will be charged a course fee. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
