City & Guilds, in partnership with APHC, is pleased to announce the launch of a full suite of qualifications across all areas of the Green Deal including Advice and Installation. Through extensive collaboration with industry representatives, partners and employers, City & Guilds will offer the range of qualifications in line with the Government’s standards.
City & Guilds is one of the only awarding bodies to offer the full range of qualifications needed to participate in the Green Deal, including both the Advisor and Installer elements. As well as providing support, City & Guilds will help determine the most effective training programmes for centres and learners to ensure employers have everything they need once the Green Deal is launched in October.
The Green Deal Advisor qualification covers domestic and non domestic advice, whereas the Green Deal Installer qualifications cover a number of areas including installation and building treatments, plumbing natural gas, heating and ventilation, electrotechnical technologies and environmental technologies and microgeneration.
Matt Lardi, Lead Portfolio Manager at City & Guilds, said: ‘Energy efficiency is vital to creating a sustainable economy for the UK. We are proud to be working with APHC to deliver the highest quality qualifications for the Green Deal.’
John Thompson, Chief Executive of APHC, said: ‘The Green Deal qualifications will arm learners with all the tools they will need as Advisors or Installers to successfully carry out work under the Green Deal for consumers. We are pleased to support City & Guilds in the development of these qualifications and as a Pilot Green Deal installer certifying body, we will be directing members who require qualifications under the Green Deal to these awards.’
