APHC members are qualified and professional businesses who are commitment to high standards of workmanship and high levels of customer service. Only those plumbing and heating businesses that have passed our quality assurance criteria are accepted as members, giving you the consumer peace of mind.

APHC members must comply with industry standards including Building Regulations, Water Regulations and appropriate British Standards. It is compulsory that APHC members operate a customer complaints procedure designed to achieve a speedy and amicable resolutions to customer complaints and they must adhere to the APHC Customer Charter, which sets out the minimum trading standard requirements when dealing with customers.

Consumers can also rest assured, that APHC members who self-certify work under the Competent Persons Scheme have annual on-site assessments to ensure they comply with Building Regulations.

If, for some reason you have cause for complaint against work that has been carried out by an APHC member, we advise that you take the following steps.

Firstly, contact the installer directly for resolution through their own internal complaints system. If the complaint is not satisfactorily resolved, APHC will provide a conciliation service and mediate on behalf of both parties to arrive at a mutually agreeable solution. If you require the assistance of APHC, please ask for our complaints department on 0121 711 5030. APHC can only deal with consumer complaints against APHC member businesses.
