The Association of Plumbing & Heating Contractors (APHC) has launched a new Domestic Hot Water Storage Systems (Unvented) course specifically developed for online delivery using webinar software.
APHC has been successfully delivering a number of plumbing courses online since June and from November, plumbers will be able to sit APHC’s Domestic Hot Water Storage Systems (Unvented) course remotely via a desktop or laptop computer with either a built-in or externally fitted camera.
The course is run by Graeme Dryden, APHC’s Deputy CEO & Technical Services Manager, who commented: “The current ongoing and fluid situation with COVID-19 has meant that we are launching this new course for online delivery.
“As with the delivery of our other online plumbing courses, we are running this new course over a five day period in two-hour segments. This maximises the effectiveness of how we deliver the course and has the added advantage for installers of not having to take a whole day off from trading as appointments can be scheduled around the two-hour time slots.”
The course is aimed at practising installers and aims to help plumbers and heating engineers who want to install Vented and Unvented Domestic Hot Water Storage Systems to comply with the appropriate Building Regulations and Standards. The course can be booked via a digital booking form and the training materials are delivered electronically and can either be printed off at home or viewed on a second computer screen or via a tablet. The end assessment is carried out using Adobe Acrobat Reader, which can be downloaded free of charge from the Adobe website.
The APHC Domestic Hot Water Storage System (Unvented) course compliments their other one-day plumbing courses, which include Legionella Cold Water Risk Assessment & Disinfection course and Sanitary & Above Ground Drainage course that are normally delivered in person to small groups but have been developed for online delivery.
Please contact APHC for course delivery dates or to discuss the course requirements in more detail.
