New website for APHC

The Association of Plumbing & Heating Contractors (APHC) has launched its new website today which aims to provide users with a secure and user friendly experience.

The website was developed in response to how APHC members, consumers and industry professionals access information online. The new website has been optimised to work on smartphones and tablets as well as laptop and desktop computers. “Our website has to fulfil a number of objectives for a number of different audiences, and whilst on first appearance over fifty percent of our site’s traffic comes from people using desktop computers, when you remove those members using the site to make gas installation notifications and building regulation notifications, this figure reduces dramatically,” said John Thompson CEO of APHC.

The website accomplishes a number of key objectives including communicating who APHC is, what APHC does whilst making it easy for consumers to source a local APHC member and access homeowner advice guides and information. John Thompson added: “Via the password protected members’ area, the site provides 24/7 access to a library of documents, technical guides, business factsheets, editable templates and model policies. Plus there is a fully developed Health & Safety Management System which includes a Health & Safety Policy Statement, Templates for General Assessments, Risk Assessments, COSHH Assessments and Work Safety Inspection Records.

“The members’ area also hosts a free online learning facility of bite-size courses covering key business development areas such as understanding basic contracts, developing a quality management system, recruitment and selection of employees and an introduction to business finance.”
